My studio
To celebrate the fact that my studio has just had a darn good tidy up (except my art desk, that is still pending), here are a few piccies to prove that it was once tidy before I trash it again 😀
But first up, this project which emerged after my daughter curled up with me in bed this morning and declared she is an avid giant squid fan and wanted to look at piccies on my iPad. This is the second time she has done that and she has inspired me to paint one for her. So here be the preparatory sketch, 45 x 15 cm.
And here be the actual painting in the middle of my now tidy studio (except for my art desk, as you can see it is definitely still a mess).
You can see the squid painting at the lower right. Along with at least three other wips spread around the room 😀
And here be the other side of my studio where my computer lives.
And more messy art desk and closer to the squid.
As you can see I have stuff stashed in every available corner 😀 Under my art desk is my wool stash for my crochet efforts (which are currently in stasis while I art madly). I’ll never have enough room.
So there you have it, my arty area. I’ve made room for a studio easel which I will now be researching and purchasing because it is becoming a necessity. My poor desk easel just can’t handle the really big pieces. (And yes, I get to go to the art shop and spend money 😀 always a good thing.)
Hope you’re all having a great week. I know mine is a thousand times better than my last…thank goodness.
Best wishes,
Liz
