I am confident I can accomplish this…I hope…I think so…well, hell, I’m gonna try 😀
How on Earth am I going to do that hair?????

In my quest for self education in the area of portraiture, I once again made an attempt to scribble down a face portraying emotion. Since I’m hip deep in the Avengers fandom at the moment, I took a scene from a fanfic I read recently and drew inspiration from that.
Yesterday I did a sketch of a very rough idea. This is my submission for this week’s Sunday Sketches. It’s not much, but I’m hoping it will develop into a nice little piece (asap! It’s due tomorrow).
Day 3 of 30 Days of Creativity and I have finally completed my eldest daughter’s mermaid painting!
I have to say that I don’t think I’ll get 29 faces done, but for what I do get done, it has been a valuable exercise. I have at least one painting in mind from one of the sketches and another proved to me that I actually know more about faces than I thought I did and it has boosted my confidence in that area
This week I only managed a paltry one and not a good one at that.
This week I started two new challenges 29 Faces and the Monthly Painters Challenge. I can’t reveal the work I have been doing for the Monthly Painters Challenge, but I can say that I’m having a great deal of fun.
Youngest Daughter’s mermaid is likely to be blue or maybe gold, I’m undecided at this point. Aiming to make her different from Eldest Daughter’s (whose mermaid has now been christened ‘Sofie’). The octopus has made a return because he was cute in that first original drawing even though Eldest Daughter kicked him off the menu. Does anyone know what else I can use for mermaid bras other than clam shells? I’ve scribbled in mussels here, but if anyone else can give me some suggestions, I’m open 😀
Just a quick update before I dash to serve up dinner. My mermaid painting from this sketch last week which I did some more of during the week and today.
Do you remember the mermaid sketch I did a while back? Its intention was a layout sketch for a painting for my eldest daughter. Unfortunately, eldest daughter had some reservations about the composition. The octopus got his marching orders and a number of other things weren’t what she wanted, so I’ve revised the sketch, changed its focus and taken a great deal of art direction as to subjects and colours from said eldest daughter.
I had plans for this Sunday Sketches. I was going to get out the neglected Inktense Pencils and tackle a project I’ve had in mind for some time.
But I’ve been crook all day and am likely to be crook for several more days. The annoying thing is, my eldest daughter went out with my sister today and my youngest went to bed, so there was FREE time this afternoon!
What did I do with it? I went to bed and slept the lot of it away. I could have done art. I could have done a pile of things, but I slept. Very annoying.
