The Ending
A possible ending to the Asgard Sequence :D
Sequel to 'Loyalty'

On a small planet in the galaxy of Ida, three humans, a Jaffa, and an Asgard burst through an event horizon to land on their feet in front of a stargate.

And all hell broke loose.

Jack came through the wormhole into a hail of weapons fire.

He felt a bolt sear through his thigh as another clipped him on the shoulder. He fell.

A third hit his chest and took his breath away. No!

His team fell around him. Daniel collapsed in a bloody, burned heap. Teal'c charged into the fray, staff weapon carving a swath through the enemy, but fell, his life cut away from him by searing flame.

Carter stood by Jack as he fell, defending him with her last breath, as if sheer determination could crush the enemy before her. She also fell, her face landing inches from his own. Her eyes glistening with unshed tears, her lips whispering the word 'no' as the life left her body.

No, no, this couldn't be, it couldn't end like this!

He wouldn't let it.

With his last effort he reached into his jacket and pulled out the box, its surface shining softly in the morning light. He set it down in front of his eyes, his hand falling down upon it. He said his last word, his heart thudding to a stop, a silent apology to the universe itself.

"Death."

The box lit up the air beneath his hand and consumed everything around it in flame.

Their bodies were swallowed, their enemies didn't have a chance.

The stargate could not stand up to the energy released, and rippled, ran with melting metal, before it too was consumed.

The conflagration spread out dissolving life and death without discrimination.

It took the city.

It took the land.

It took the planet.

The space where Othalla had been became a swirling mass of expanding energy, its fingers reaching further out into space.

It crept from star to star, all consuming, all flaming.

All destroying.

The Replicators frozen in their time warped eternity, had no moment to consider their fate.

The galaxy of Ida soon was no more.

And still it expanded.

In orbit of a planet in the depths of Goa'uld controlled space, Anubis sat on his throne picking his nose. Ooh, how did that get up there?

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a wave of intense burning white light. He never saw what hit him, and after it passed it no longer mattered. Anubis and his nose were gone.

Jacob Carter was having an argument with Selmac, and it had almost come to fisticuffs, which considering their situation, was not conducive to their mutual health.

They were suddenly distracted by a white light, they blinked and it took them. Argument forgotten.

General Hammond bent over to pick up some dropped paperwork. His desk shuddered, he had no time to react, the world exploded. Suddenly the defense of the planet was no longer a problem.

Across Planet Earth several Jackficcers suddenly found all their fan fiction permanently and irrevocably finished.

The explosion continued outward until it had consumed everything. Planets, stars, the Universe. Everything came to an end.

Jack O'Neill had had the last word.
