Eristemon verrucous

At the time I was very happy with this watercolour pencil drawing, now looking back I can see things that could have been improved, but it is still one of my favourites.

This was done as a present for my then soon to be mother-in-law for her birthday (I think, either that or Mother's Day). She and her hubby are avid Australian native Plant enthusiasts and this is a rare form of Eristemon wax flower that has a double set of petals. incidently it is also one of my favourites, so I knocked together this drawing.

We did eventually get hold of two of the plants, one for each of us, but my mother-in-law's died. Ours is still alive, and happy now that we have weeded around it :)
