CART Decals by Alan Thorpe All those open wheeler modellers out there are probably familiar with the Revell 1/25 Reynard CART cars. As you may be aware they were only two types released, those representing the 1998/99 season and a slightly new tool for the 2000 season. The good thing is that most of the cars used by the CART teams were Reynard units in one form or other, with very little exterior/visual differences, with only minor variations in wheels, front/rear wing end plates, being the most obvious if you looked real hard. So Revell released a swag of these models with decals for nine (I think!) teams so far. Now thanks to Speedline decals in the USA you can choose nine more teams to deck your kits if the current lot don’t suit you. Good eh! Please click on a link below

The decals are for the
I obtained seven sets, the Hollywood and Telefonica versions not being instock at the time. And very good they are too! Razor sharp printing, perfect register and super thin. They all have that high quality “feel” to them, and I am building a Harley Miller car at the moment, so will let you know how they go. If you mix’n match some wheels, don’t mind dabbling in a bit of scratch building, get a few of these kits, just to “do” the decals. They should look real slick. All come with the colour placement card too. One point to look out for though is the decals don’t all have the appropriate tyre stickers, so you will have to scrounge around for some Firestone/Firehawk logos. I do believe Shabo have some decals to cover this shortcoming, I will try to find out. The Goodyear/Eagle decals should be no problemo for you open wheeler modellers,ok. I purchased these from TNT Hobbies, just ordered ‘em over the net, and had them in my mail box (the tin thing out on the footpath ya goose!) in about eight to ten days. Go for it! |
