This years Expo will be held on the weekend of October 26-28. Last year was a great event so let's work together to make this years even better.

The subject for the theme display for the Armour SIG for this years Expo will be :
Armoured Warfare in Europe
This incudes armour in all its forms, from Modern to Ancient, Knights to Panzers and Rome to Kosovo. As you can see the theme here is ARMOUR. See Clive Paling for details.

The theme display for the Aircraft SIG will be :
US Army Air Force WW2.
This includes fighters, bombers, recon aircraft, transports and utilities. See John Kerr or Graeme Bawhey for details.

The theme display for the Automotive SIG will be :
European and Japanese Makes
BMW, Mercedes, Mazda, Nissan are just a few that come to mind. Contact Paul Zerbe, David Burge or Peter Murrie for details

So if you have models that fit into these themes(and that shouldn't be too hard!) please bring them along to the Expo and give us and the general public a chance to see them.

Editorial

by Editor, Mark Powley

Welcome to the June edition of the SAPMAIL. I am pleased to announce that SAPMA now has a website. It is still fairly devoid of content at the moment but that will change as time goes on. I won't go into too much detail here but save that for the article dealing with the website. What I would like to do is thank my wife, Ruth, for all the effort she has put into the design and creation of the SAPMA website.

Stuart Beatson has given us his first SAPMAIL article with Part 1 of a TSR-2 What if. Thanks Stuart.

Noticed a lack of car/automotive articles in the SAPMAIL ? (Editor pulls out whip)This is not because I hate car models/modellers but due to a lack of submissions from car modellers. Come on guys, give me your submissions.(sound of whip cracking) And that goes for the rest of you as well (Whip cracks again).

On another note entirely Accurate Miniatures have announced that as of June 30 they will cease trading. For a variety of reasons they have found it uneconomic to continue which is a great pity. This means that if you want one of their kits then grab them now while you have a chance. We can only hope that another company buys their tooling so their kits won't be lost to us forever.

Finally, John Kerr has added some further information for the up and coming Expo. This is only four months away so now is the time to start getting serious with those competition entries if you haven't already. Till next month......have fun!

Want to submit an Article?

So you want to submit an article, ad in the Classifieds or an item for the Bulletin Board? They can be submitted on disc as a Word or Text file. Hand or type written articles are no problem. Email submissions are also not a problem. If you have any questions call me on 8374 2743 or email : mgp@ihug.com.au

You don't need to be Bryce Courtney to submit an article. If you've just finished building a kit then jot down some notes about it ie parts fit, ease of construction, decal quality and so on.

Equally as good are In-Box Reviews. If you've just bought a kit or aftermarket item then feel free to share your thoughts on it.

General types of articles, some interesting information about a plane or tank or car you'd like to share, your favourite websites and so on will also be cheerfully accepted. Don't be afraid! I promise not to laugh at you. Honest!
