Named after William Jackson Hooker and his son Joseph Dalton Hooker, Banksia hookeriana is one of the most popular banksias in cultivation. It is also one of the most handsome. A native of Western Australia, it is a shrub to about 3 metres tall with thin, serrated leaves and large white, turning orange upon opening, inflorences of flowers.
