This one has been sitting in the back of my mind for months. I’ve never painted a seascape (or landscape for that matter) and it is something I would really like to try. This particular image in colour has a lovely silver quality that would be a challenge to duplicate in paint, so expect to see this one again down the track.
I have paint on my pyjamas. This could possibly be because I was painting in my pyjamas, my new pyjamas. Also because it is four minutes to midnight.
But I am a happy chappy today regardless, or even perhaps because I have paint on my pyjamas.
Guess what I received in the mail today…
Just when I think I can’t possibly jam more stuff into a room…well…I can. My studio has stuff stashed in every corner, every nook and cranny, under every desk and table. And now I have an easel to cater to…and there was that table I bought from Ikea a few weeks back that Hubby so kindly put together for me tonight. So space needed to be made and stuff shifted.
When I woke up I lay there for a while letting my body boot up, idly thinking about things, of which art was one, when I got an idea. This idea flew in from nowhere and struck like lightning.
Did all the food shopping, piled it into the car and drove out of the underground carpark…with the windows wide open. The moment my car was clear of the building a warm breeze carrying the scent of the Aussie outback filled the car.
Happy New Year to all of you! This year is going to be one of art and I’m starting out with the attempt to get one Piece of Art COMPLETED per week. Considering my last post, completing is something I really need to do more of.
So here be my first Piece a Week and a short story to go with it.
This is a photo of the view from our front yard. You’re looking at the peak of an extinct ( or according to some people, dormant) volcano. We’re parked between the two major craters – this is the pinnacle of the Valley Lake crater. Behind us is the larger crater of the Blue Lake. We’re at Mount Gambier and because I have a memory like a sieve, this is my first Reverb post.
