Bubbles, bubbles, everywhere

One of my favourite things to do with my art is explore techniques that may not have been fully explored before. It is pretty much impossible to find something that has never been attempted before, but there seem to be plenty of techniques that have never been fully explored or combined with some of our current technological capabilities.

My paper mosaics are one such playground, but another which I have explored in the past, though not so much recently, is my bubble painting. It is a technique that pushes its materials to the limits and then some, but I love some of the results I have come up with and have been looking for some applications for them.

I found one.

Cushions!

I’ve uploaded some of my bubble prints up to the shop and now there are cushions! Above we have Lava Bubble, Pink Fizz and Blue Splash, three of my favourite prints. I think they look fabulous on the cushions and there are a few other things you can buy with my bubble prints as well. But the cushions are my favourites.

In the studio this week…

  • I have a new web design client! I have some serious work ahead of me, but it is exciting stuff.
  • I have applied to a new exhibition.
  • It looks like I might be participating in a joint exhibition later in the year. Woo hoo!
  • And the Royal Adelaide Show has sent out its art show application forms, so I will be lining up for that as well.

So yeah, busy 😀

As for actual arting in said studio…

I finished the background to my experimental mosaic sun.

And started tiling…

I have mixed feelings about this one. It is going to take quite some time to finish and I’m not sure of what the result will be – this is why I should do small experiments, not large ones like this. I guess persistence will win the day. I need more Star Trek to watch!

Anyway, it is Paint Party Friday and I’m sharing this post with that wonderful group of people 😀 so drop on by and see some gorgeous art.

And don’t forget to visit my shop! There are some goodies on the shelves already with more to come!

Best wishes,
Liz
