I would be very interested in knowing what you would like to see on this blog. I’ve been presenting some regular segments here with mixed results. What are your thoughts on those? What do you prefer? What else would you like to see here? I really would like to present what you want to see, so please let me know and I’ll do my best to fulfill. Comment
I actually managed to do some painting today! I didn’t complete what I started out to do, but I have made good progress and a painting is emerging.
Sunday Sketches… I actually did some sketching this week as part of my current venture into animation. When I say animation, I mean very basic animation. I did the sketches below as an experiment to see how the process works. I have since decided to use another method and another character, so these drawings are redundant, but I kinda liked him and thought I could introduce you all to Spike (no relation to the Buffy character…though I suppose I could draw a couple of fangs on him :D)
After a nasty week involving sick children, sick hubby, sick sister and sick me, I am slowly surfacing back into the real world. Very little art was done this week. Very little of anything was done this week. But on Monday, before the worst of it hit, I had a short time to play with my pastels.
I have not done any art for over a week now and I’m going a little crazy. Plus I’m surviving on about two hours sleep. No answers to any challenges this week 🙁 I’m so sad that I’ve missed them, particularly Paint Party Friday as I was looking forward to that one.
I spent tonight tidying up my art corner in order to fit the primed boards inside the house. Since we had children and lost the two spare rooms, everything that didn’t migrate to the rubbish bin ended up out in the hobby room. The hobby room which houses two computers, a display case, four bookcases, two cupboards, six desks, a filing cabinet, a set of art drawers and a sewing machine cabinet, is starting to become crowded. I’m having the problem of needing to put away things that have no place to go. And since I’ve been neglecting things like housework so I can art…well, let’s say it wasn’t a pretty sight.
When I came to do the red centres of the flowers (around the yellow eye), I had to switch from watercolour pencil to watercolour paint because as with my pastel sticks, my red watercolour pencils are annoyingly hard and often scratch the surface of the paper. Do any of you ever encounter this problem? I find it very frustrating, to the point I can’t use my reds.
Just a quick call out to find out if anyone is still participating in this challenge. If you are and would like me to continue posting it, please comment to this post.
I’m rather behind on the challenges myself, so I need to know if anyone still would like to keep the challenge running.
